HOUSE RULES

Terms of service.

Veloturf is a free game built by one rider for other riders. These are the rules for using it. Short on purpose; read the whole thing.

THE DEAL

Free to play, offered as it is

By signing in or using Veloturf you accept these terms and our privacy policy. If you don't agree, don't use it. Veloturf is free; there is no subscription, no purchase and no in-game currency.

YOUR ACCOUNT

One rider, one account, 16 or older

You sign in with a Strava or Google account and you're responsible for what happens under yours. You must be at least 16. One account per person; don't create accounts for other people or share yours.

YOUR RIDES

Real rides only

Your rides stay yours. You give us permission to read them and to turn them into squares, season results and leaderboards for as long as you keep an account.

Only upload or sync rides you actually did. Fabricated or edited GPS tracks, rides recorded in a vehicle, and anything meant to claim squares you didn't ride are cheating. We may remove those claims and the account behind them. Don't scrape, automate, or hammer the service either.

THE GAME

Squares reset every month; nothing here is a record

Every season the map resets and all claims are wiped. Leaderboards, squares and season results are a game, not a permanent record of your riding, and we may change how squares are scored, tie-broken or displayed at any time. If a change is meant to be retroactive we'll say so on the site.

OTHER RIDERS

Play fair, be decent

Your name, avatar and results are visible to the rivals and clubs you join. Club names, matchup names and anything else you type must not be abusive, deceptive or someone else's trademark. We may rename or remove content that is.

THIRD PARTIES

Strava, Google and Squadrats are not us

Signing in and syncing rides use Strava's or Google's services under their own terms. Veloturf is an independent companion app; it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or a product of Strava, Squadrats, VeloViewer or Google. If Strava or Google stop giving us access, parts of Veloturf stop working.

AVAILABILITY

No warranty, no promise of uptime

Veloturf is a side project. It may be slow, wrong, down, or gone. It is provided "as is" without any warranty, and we can change or shut it down at any time. To the extent Belgian law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of it; nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, and if you are a consumer your mandatory rights under the law of your country still apply.

ENDING IT

Leave any time; we can show you the door too

You can delete your account and everything with it from Settings. We may suspend or delete accounts that break these rules, without notice where the abuse is obvious.

CHANGES AND LAW

Belgian law, updates announced here

We may update these terms; the date at the top tells you when. Keep using Veloturf after a change and you accept the new version. These terms are governed by Belgian law, and disputes go to the competent courts in Belgium, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country you live in.
